Kittyhawk, Sydney CBD
More and more the idea of a traditional wedding is changing, if not being thrown out the window all together. In its place has emerged a new kind of soiree – uniquely moulded to fit each couples personalities. Embracing that idea, I wanted to create a wedding themed shoot that was modern and dark. Something that wasn’t your average wedding, but careful not to take things too far so that they seemed comically gothic. When you thing of a wedding you don’t necessarily think of black and red, so it was a challenge to still keep the wedding feel instead of a fancy Halloween party.
In came Kittyhawk… While searching for the perfect venue to help bring such a vision to life I stumbled across the French WWII inspired restaurant and bar – I was in love instantly. The moody lighting, war time decorations, intimate vibes, and ornate exterior hooked me. Seriously, this is one of the coolest venues in the city. Being so close to Circular Quay also meant there were plenty of options to take portraits in the most photogenic parts of the city.
Gathering together a fantastic team together of talented vendors (big shout out to stylists Wendy & Derek from Fable Studio Co), we all worked together to help bring this idea to fruition. But the real icing on the cake was finding real life couple Jorja and Brad to model as our bride and groom for the day. These two were just amazing and their chemistry was off the charts. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves, but wow these two are steamy.
