Moss Vale, New South Wales
There’s something so endearing about the idea of country weddings – the lush scenery, rustic textures and fresh open air can be such a needed break from the city hustle and bustle. Kady & Ryan’s nuptials, in the heart of the Southern Highlands, was no exception.
From the start of the day it became clear it was going to be hard to wipe the smiles off either Kady or Ryan’s faces. They were bubbling with nervous excitement all morning and the friends they picked to be apart of their bridal party really added laughter to the day.
Ryan’s mother and step-father opened up their gorgeous home and gardens for the celebration. With such a large space to work with they easily separated the front of the garden for the ceremony, but the real treat came in the space set aside for the reception. The main seating section was surrounded by many hide-away nooks, adorned with an ample supply of fairy lights and candles. Once that sun went down, it felt totally magical. The unique touches didn’t stop there. As a tree lopper, Ryan had a large saw engraved with their names and the date to cut through their wedding cake in style!
For their portraits, we head a short 10 minutes down the road to the bridal party’s accommodation in Burradoo, a quaint cottage surrounded by immaculately green gardens. Totally stunning! If you’re tossing up whether or not to have a wedding in the Southern Highlands, do it! I promise you won’t regret it.
